Exterior spaces for a hospital
As part of the construction of new unit for elderly people with Alzheimer’s disease, Centre hospitalier de Brive initiated a study to create therapeutic gardens. Internal gardens offer contact with the natural environment and soften the density of the site, encouraging a sense of well-being to the different users (patients, families and healthcare workers). The medicinal plant palette adds depth to small spaces and awakens the senses with the seasons. The paths are winding, revealing different angles and facilitating ambulation. They are punctuated by custom furniture for individual or group activities : seats, garden tables and movable planters.
